General Services

Free pick up and delivery: As a courtesy to our customers in the mountain states, we provide regular pick up and delivery of new and overhauled props. We drive along a regular route in the states of Idaho, Washington, Wyoming, Montana, and Utah, and we would be happy to place your prop on our schedule.

Dynamic Balancing: Repairing or replacing your prop is the best time to dynamically balance your propeller. This service increases the life of your engine, improves performance, and reduces vibrations in your plane.

Non-Destructive Testing (NDT):  Simply checking for cracks or chips with the naked eye isn’t enough to guarantee that your propeller is safe; that’s why we provide NDT inspections for your props. We strip down the surface layer of the prop, coat it in a magnetic fluorescent liquid, and use a black light to identify weak points, cracks, or chips that threaten the integrity of your prop.

Cad Plating and Anodizing

Cad plating is the process of layering cadmium over steel, cast iron, malleable iron, or copper. This process protects metal from corrosion, and is extremely important in industries where parts are constantly disassembled or reassembled. Our tanks are currently equipped for type I or II (gold or silver). In addition to servicing propellers and other aviation parts that require this process, we can also process small batches for:

  • motorcycle parts
  • classic car restoration
  • engine part plating
  • machine part plating
Anodizing involves sending an electric current through an acid electrolyte bath, and of course, only aluminum can be anodized. Our tanks are large enough to fit three or four propellers at a time. Please contact us to be placed on our schedule to restore your parts to their former glory.

Public Speaking to Pilots and FAA Groups

With over 30 years of experience in the aviation industry, we know a lot about propellers. As a community service, Precision Propeller Service offers free speaking with Idaho area pilot groups and FAA organized training events about the proper care of propellers and governors so that you too can know a lot about aircraft propellers. We teach the facts about propeller maintenance in an engaging and informative way. We might be willing to travel in the Intermountain West states, but you won’t know until you give us a call!
